About the Journal

A slow magazine for a conscious table.

Pure Organic Journal is an independent, reader-funded publication devoted to the science, craft, and quiet beauty of living in step with the natural world.

Our Story

Founded in 2014, in a small kitchen in Liguria.

What began as a quarterly broadsheet folded by hand at a farmhouse table has grown into one of the world's most thoughtful magazines on organic living — read in print and online by 142,000 conscious readers across forty-one countries.

We commission long-form journalism, peer-reviewed science writing, seasonal recipes, and original photography from a global network of farmers, chefs, herbalists, and researchers.

The Journal accepts no advertising and is funded entirely by its subscribers — a model that lets us answer to one audience only: you.

What We Believe

Four principles that guide every page we print.

Principle I

Soil first.

Every story begins with the ground. Healthy soil grows healthy food, healthy people, healthy economies.

Principle II

Science, not slogans.

We translate peer-reviewed research with care, and we name our sources. Marketing language has no place here.

Principle III

Slow over scale.

We publish less so we can publish well. One feature thoroughly reported beats ten written in a rush.

Principle IV

Reader-funded, reader-owned.

No advertisers. No native content. Just subscribers — and the editorial independence that comes with them.
